How you care for your vinyl flooring will depend, in part, on where it has been laid in the house and what that room is used for. There are many ways in which you can protect it and care for it to maintain its great looks.
If your flooring has been laid in the entrance to your home, the use of a rug or door mat will stop dirt and grit from being spread inwards and scratching the surface of your new luxury vinyl flooring. However, please ask us for advice as some mats can cause discolouration to your flooring.
Although vinyl is in the main water resistant, it is important not to over soak it, and as with all surfaces, it is advisable to clear up any spillages straight away.
Regular sweeping, with a soft brush, will prevent build-up of dust and dirt.
Felt pads or coasters under any furniture legs which are touching the flooring will help avoid scratches when sliding or moving furniture across the floor.
Regular cleaning with a pH neutral cleaner will also help keep the floor at its best (specialist vinyl floor cleaning products can be purchased, such as Karndean Cleaning Solution).
When you have cleaned your floor with a soluble cleaner, always remember to mop or wipe up any excess liquid and allow the floor to dry thoroughly before walking on it.
If you have any queries about cleaning and general maintenance and care for your flooring, please do not hesitate to contact any of the team at H2H Flooring to discuss in more detail.
